During the freak flash storm in Melbourne last week, 360’s home studio flooded, damaging a lot of the equipment he was using to put the finished touches on his new album.
360 took to Facebook to detail the damage done, and while he stresses that he didn’t lose any of his work, the studio will be out of action for months while the damage is repaired. This will cause problems, as hip hop albums – notably a genre that features the voice front-and-centre – need to maintain a consistent vocal sound throughout. As he explains in his lengthy post: “It’s really important that songs are recorded on the same mic with the same sound, if I suddenly have one verse recorded in a sound proof room and then one in my bedroom with a lot of reverberating and echoing it won’t work at all.”
Thankfully, 360 bought a new mic, moved the entire operation into his bedroom, and seems okay with the results. Hopefully thanks are smooth sailing from now on, and the album doesn’t suffer any delays.

“So with my studio flooding the other day cos of that insane storm in Melbourne, the whole room is F’d and out of action, will take a few months to repair all the damage but given I’m at the final stages of recording for my album I had to figure out what to do. I freaked out thinking I was fucked but thank the universe I didn’t lose any of my work at all but wtf am I meant to do to finish it?! It’s really important that songs are recorded on the same mic with the same sound, if I suddenly have one verse recorded in a sound proof room and then one in my bedroom with a lot of reverberating and echoing it won’t work at all. I Did a bit of research and went and copped the Aston halo and moved all my equipment into my bedroom with the hope I might be able to finish everything. I thought it would be shit and it wouldn’t compare given downstairs is a dead room (acoustically) but it sounds great! It may look like barney flashing a brown eye but it actually works incredibly!!! Expensive shit though but worth it to get the job done.
“I hope everyone else effected by the storm are all good, you can’t ever imagine that shit happening. All that damage done was caused in like 10 minutes of heavy rain!! Never underestimate nature..
“New album + much more 2017 !!! So excited”
