Coldplay, those arena-straddling British purveyors of heart-on-sleeve pop rock, have released their new studio album, Ghost Stories, today (via Parlophone/Warner Music Australia) and are headed to Australia to promote their sixth and latest release… for a one-off intimate performance.

Live Nation has confirmed that the band – Chris Martin, Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland, and Will Champion – will be playing a single headline show at Sydney’s iconic Enmore Theatre on Thursday 19th June.

Strict anti-scalping measures are in place for Coldplay’s all-ages Sydney show, with tickets strictly limited to two per purchase and no tickets issued until the actual date of the concert. General tickets go on sale Tuesday 20th May, 10am with Live Nation Members getting access to a pre-sale the day before, Monday 19th May at 2pm.

Coldplay last toured Australia in November 2012 for their Mylo Xyloto world tour, playing sold out stadium shows in Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney, with our Tone Deaf reviewer declaring the band delivered a show that “proved they’re worthy of the title of biggest band in the world.”

Ghost Stories is set to continue that dominance, preceded by lead cuts ‘Midnight’, ‘Magic’ and ‘A Sky Full Of Stars’, a team-up with superstar producer Avicii that’s a “full-tilt assault on both the pop and dance charts and is destined to soundtrack sports montages and commercials the world over.”
