A follow up to Betty Rubble: The Initiation EP which dropped May last year, ‘She Gutta’ is one of Mykki Blanco’s first singles of 2014.

Mykki Blanco is the female alter ego of Michael Quattlebaum an American rapper, performance artist, and poet. Socialized in the alternative culture of the East Village, Mykki Blanco goes back to the performative character of hip hop, citing Alice Cooper, Björk, and Missy Elliott as major influences. And despite all the voguing flashiness, there undoubtedly is an earnest core to the agenda of this academically trained performance artist

Blanco has been on the road touring extensively internationally and will be visiting Australia for Dark MOFO in June as well as visiting Melbourne and Sydney to play headline sideshows thanks to the lovely people at The House Of Mince.

There are rumours of an album release later this year but no date has been set. Blanco has revealed however it will be called “Michael” Blanco’s birth name.
