Not that Triple J didn’t already have an absolutely stellar bill set for their Beat The Drum 40th anniversary music festival event, with the likes of Hilltop Hoods, The Presets, and more set to make appearances, they’ve now expanded the bill, adding Gotye, Bernard Fanning, Daniel Johns, Sarah Blasko, and many more.

Appearances from The Cat Empire, Nina Las Vegas, Triple J staffer KLP, You Am I, Vance Joy, The Preatures, Ball Park Music, Adalita, Courtney Barnett, Remi, and Owl Eyes, will now be peppered with short performances and cameo appearances from DZ Deathrays, Drapht, Hermitude, Illy, Megan Washington, Paul Dempsey, and others.

In addition to these very special guests — readers can check out the full lineup below — organisers promise the day will be filled with surprises, including special acoustic performances, surprise collaborations, and covers of some of the many iconic Australian hits that were made famous thanks to Triple J.

With 40 years as a staple of the Australian music industry, championing countless artists over those four decades, this is a chance for the station to celebrate the milestone with listeners, who’ll be descending on Sydney’s famous Domain or listening to the live broadcast at home on Friday, 16th January.
