It’s less than a month since we wrapped on Soundwave 2015, but fans and organisers are already squarely focused on next year’s event. In fact, the good folks behind Australia’s premier hard rock event have just announced the dates for Soundwave 2016.

“We are thrilled to announce that the next edition of Soundwave is sooner than you may have expected! 2016 will see Soundwave return to the one day format and be held in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne and in January!” write organisers via Facebook.

Soundwave 2016 will take place in Brisbane on Saturday, 23rd January; Sydney on Sunday, 24th January; and Melbourne on Tuesday, 26th January. For those that missed it, Soundwave Melbourne will be taking over the Australia Day Public Holiday, a post previously held by Big Day Out.

Meanwhile, organisers have already started piecing together next year’s lineup. After coming to a handshake agreement on Twitter, Violent Soho are working things out with promoter AJ Maddah behind the scenes and just yesterday, fellow locals Northlane became the second addition to Soundwave 2016.
