This year’s massive lineup of bands for BIGSOUND Live 2015 has just gotten even bigger, if you can believe that. Triple J Unearthed have now announced the winners of their annual BIGSOUND competition, adding up-and-comers Deafcult and Gill Bates to the bill.

Deafcult will be opening Triple J’s first Unearthed showcase, channeling “sheets of noisy guitars and juxtaposing with layers of warm, fuzzy vocals”. Make sure you bring your earplugs, because things are sure to get very loud.

Meanwhile, Gill Bates will be kicking off Unearthed’s second showcase during night two of BIGSOUND 2015, bringing plenty of swag, style, and more than a few dense, meaty rhymes in tow. Just check out his single ‘Didn’t Mind’, produced by fellow Unearthed winner Feki.

BIGSOUND is well-established as the Southern Hemisphere’s premier new music event, with stakeholders and decision-makers from around the world flying in to uncover tomorrow’s best new talent. Recent years have seen BIGSOUND serve as the launchpad for artists like Courtney Barnett, Flume, and Seth Sentry.

The event sees Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley play host to 140 bands who will play over two nights on 9th and 10th September, taking over 14 of Brisbane’s best music venues, giving tastemakers, industry members, and the general public one of Australia’s most unique festival experiences.

BIGSOUND Live tickets are now on sale for just $75 for two nights or $45 for a single night, with an exclusive pre-sale for 2014 ticket holders from 19th June.

Special rate tickets for the BIGSOUND industry conference, including priority entry to BIGSOUND Live as well as three days of conference, exclusive industry parties, and more are on sale now via the official BIGSOUND website.
