SideOneDummy is an independent record label based in Los Angeles, California, best known as home to the likes of The Gaslight Anthem, Flogging Molly, and Gogol Bordello are currently celebrating their 20th anniversary.
To mark the occasion, they’ve asked some of their bands to cover other bands on the label. “We’re all one big happy family over here and this just goes to prove it,” a statement from the much-loved indie house reads.
Of particular note is this cover of Violent Soho’s Hungry Ghost firecracker ‘In The Aisle’, which comes courtesy of the one and only Smith Street Band frontman and Australian punk rock vanguard Will Wagner.
Wagner takes the raucous track and transmutes it into something completely different using only a clean-tone electric guitar and his inimitable vocals. Check out Wagner’s take on ‘In The Aisle’ below.
