The lineup for Groovin The Moo 2016 is set to drop this Thursday, but if the anticipation is simply to much for you to bear, organisers and triple j have come together to give you a few helpful hints.

According to triple j, the lineup for this year’s instalment of Australia’s favourite regional music festival will feature 27 acts, not including the annual triple j Unearthed comp winners and local acts.

If you’ve got some time on your hands and Google handy, run these numbers: between 2009 and 2015, 35 Unearthed winners have played Groovin The Moo and three of those artists will return to play GTM 2016.

As for international additions, apparently there’s a band that hails from the good old US of A who enjoyed playing the festival so much on their first visit that they’re set to return this year.

Groovin The Moo organisers also recently shared a tweet featuring a photo of Sticky Fingers from last year’s event and writing that yesterday’s triple j Hottest 100 just got them “super excited” for their lineup drop.

Does this mean Sticky Fingers will be doing back-to-back GTMs or can we expect a Hottest 100 act or two on the bill? Maybe even poll winners The Rubens? All will be revealed at 8am this Thursday, 28th January.

One of the most popular Groovin The Moo 2016 hopefuls is none other than former Australian Idol contestant Shannon Noll. As we reported, there is currently a movement afoot to have Nollsy added to the lineup.

What’s more, Nollsy himself is fully on board and would be down to play the gig. Responding to fans on Twitter, the man of the people said “it would be heaps of fun” to do the GTM tour, which he described as “a great gig to be on”.
