Rihanna has officially dropped her eagerly anticipated new album, ANTI, and if you peruse the tracklist, you’ll notice that one of the tracks bears a striking similarity to a song by Australia’s own Tame Impala.
If you’re wondering if ‘Same Ol’ Mistakes’ just so happens to be a cover of Tame Impala’s ‘New Person, Same Old Mistakes’ from their latest album, the critically acclaimed Currents, then you’d be right.
The album was accidentally leaked ahead of its official release via Tidal and some quick-witted fans managed to get RiRi’s cover of the Kevin Parker-penned tune and upload it – check it out below via Brooklyn Vegan.
The cover certainly sounds very similar to the original, but obviously with Kevin Parker’s dulcet, John Lennon-esque tones replaced with the Barbadian pop sensation’s considerable pipes.
