Why? Time to celebrate because local legend Yeo is hitting the road in celebration of his killer full-length album Ganbaru. Over the past handful of years the singer and producer has garnered a stong and loyal fan base thanks to his addictive RnB influenced electronic pop – so it’s time to see why.

Spaceman

When? 8pm, Wednesday 9th March
Why? Our WA faves Spaceman are back at it – playing what feels like a new gig everyday, but we’re not complaining, which they could play twice a day! This Wednesday they’re taking over The Bird with mates Silver Hills and Dougal’s Casino. Pop in.

Chicken, Beer & Music

Where? The Belleville, Globe Alley, Melbourne
When? 12pm, Saturday 12th March
Why? To celebrate three of the greatest things in life (unless you’re vego – two, but 2/3 ain’t bad) The Belleville will be taking over Globe Alley this Saturday. There will be live performances from Phi and Tom Showtime Quintet plus DJ sets from; funk and soul master DJ peril (1200 Techniques), revered DMC Champion KUYA (The Operatives) and an extensive lineup of Melbourne’s finest beatsmiths with a few little surprises thrown in for you along the way. Dinosaur City Launch Party

Why? Local heroes the Wireheads take up Friday night (and Easter Thursday) residency at The Metro for ‘Mad March’ with special guests every week. This weekend sees appearances from Nathan Roche and Astro Dad. Yum.

Why? Despite the multitude of ways the genre has been disputed and diluted, the spirit of punk rock has always remained, at its core, a state of mind. A conviction and attitude staunchly embedded in the soul that even the headiest of adult responsibilities cannot drown out.
