Dune Rats are heaps busy at the moment. Next week will see them headlining Queensland’s Blurst of Times festival and they’ve got what could possibly be the biggest local rock tour of the year, an epic trek with Violent Soho and DZ Deathrays, just on the horizon.

Somehow, they still found the time to unleash quite possibly the cruellest April Fool’s Day prank of any Aussie band. If you didn’t catch it, the Dunies dashed the hopes of Groovin The Moo punters after adding themselves to the lineup and later announcing their “cancellation”.

Without even taking a breath, the band are now set to shoot a new music video in Byron Bay this week and what’s more, they’re hoping to add a few Dunies fans to the guest list to… well, we don’t know, but they’re promising the experience will be full of surprises.

“WE ARE SHOOTING A NEW VIDEO IN BYRON ON SATURDAY ARVO,” the band wrote on Facebook after hitting their Caps Lock. Among the attractions will be a pool slash half-pipe and of course, the band will be there to play a few tunes and offer “A FEW SURPRISES”.

If you want in (we know you do), make sure you have some free time this Saturday, 9th April, the means to get to Byron Bay, and then shoot an email to [email protected] to get on the guest list / find out the address. The band stress, “FIRST IN BEST DRESSED.”

The band also recently took to Facebook to throw their support behind Bretto, a Kiama surfer who was attacked by a shark last week. Feel free to donate to his family to help pay for hospital bills while he fights to recovery,” they wrote. Check the details below.

Get behind and support young Bretto from Kiama who was attacked by a shark last week. Feel free to donate to his family…
