We kicked the week off by covering how Courtney Barnett basically killed it during her stint on Saturday Night Live over the weekend. In addition to two superb performances, Barnett even participated in a skit with cast member Bobby Moynihan.

To celebrate the end of their 41st season, the cast and crew of SNL held a huge after-party, during which our homegrown star shared a stage with SNL alum Fred Armisen, rapper Shamir, and Sleater-Kinney’s Carrie Brownstein.

What basically constitutes the coolest supergroup ever launched into a set of covers, with Armisen taking lead vocals on a cover of The Clash’s ‘Should I Stay or Should I Go’, Barnett taking on ‘Twist & Shout’, and Brownstein ripping through ‘My Generation’.

“Last night I had the honour to perform with Courtney Barnett, Fred Armisen, and Carrie Brownstein for the SNL season finale after party,” Shamir gushed about the experience. “It was SUCH a blast to play with and for some of my favorite people I grew up watching.”

You can check out some of the awesome footage from the party below, but be prepared to feel seriously envious of everyone in the crowd.
