Having toured pretty much non-stop all over the world, including a couple of treks around Australia and plenty of festival spots, since releasing their third album in 2014, The Smith Street Band are hitting the studio to begin work on a new record.

The band took to their official Facebook page this morning to share a photo of their bags and instruments literally packed. “Off we go to make a record,” the band wrote in the post.

The band didn’t share any further details but in an interview with Medium earlier this year, the band revealed that “11 new songs” have been written since Throw Me In The River, the band’s acclaimed third album, was released two years ago.

Some of the songs have apparently made their way into the band’s live set and their soundcheck, so if you’ve checked out a Smith Street show in the last 12 months or so, you may have caught a glimpse of their fourth full-length album.
