Another day, another goal kicked by the boys in Dune Rats. In the same week that they revealed they’d completed their long-awaited new record, they’ve now announced they’ve signed a major new deal.

Taking to Facebook, the Queensland mavericks shared a celebratory photo and wrote, “Just signed to Sony/ATV Music Publishing for a f***load of cash! Cheers c***s!!!! Bunch of legends.” Yes, Dune Rats have certainly arrived.

If you’re still playing catch-up, a publishing company is responsible for licensing a songwriter’s composition for commercial use and ensuring they get the money that said use generates. Sony/ATV are one of the world’s biggest publish companies.

Meanwhile, there’s no date yet for when we can expect the new Dunies record, but triple j’s 2016 Aussie Release Schedule claims the release will be an EP which will drop some time before the end of the year.

The EP was recorded with FIDLAR frontman Zac Carper, whom the band met when they toured North America together. Carper was behind the mixing board for the Dunies last single, ‘Bulls**t’.

The band recently took to Instagram to proclaim that their new record is “finished and sick”, having previously revealed that they’d been busy writing with DZ Deathrays, with whom they are set to tour North America and Europe.

Just signed to @sonyatvaustralia for a fuckload of cash! Cheers cunts!!!! Bunch of legends
