When we say nothing will stop Airbourne from rocking, it’s not just some cliched catchphrase pulled right out of their PR copy. We mean frontman Joel O’Keeffe can sustain broken ribs during a song and go on to finish the entire set.

We know this for a fact because that’s precisely what happened a few nights ago when the Aussie rock outfit played CJs Nightclub in Kamloops, British Columbia. O’Keeffe took a bit of a tumble and sustained torn ligaments in his ankle and several broken ribs.

O’Keeffe was mid-solo at the time and there was still rocking to be done, so after being picked up by venue security, O’Keeffe proceeded to finish the song and even continued on the tour wearing a cast. Just witness the footage below.

We recently had the pleasure of catching up with Airbourne ahead of their January Australian tour. We spoke to guitarist David Roads about the band’s popularity overseas, their relationship with triple j, and their new album, Breakin’ Outta Hell.

Airbourne’s new album, ‘Breakin’ Outta Hell‘, is out now. Their national tour kicks off January 2017 – check below for dates and get your hands on the album here.
