Released back in June 2010, ‘All I Know’ was the second single released by Melbourne band Eagle & The Worm in the lead up to their debut album Goodtimes on which the single also appears. A fun track from the 8-piece band who have taken the country by storm with their debut single ‘Futureman’ becoming the soundtrack of 2010.
Richard Kingsmill of Triple J gave the track 5/5 saying “If the Benny Hill show was still around, this would make a great theme tune for it. That’s a compliment too.”
Now the group have reworked the track with a little help from new friends Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, an 8 piece brass band from Chicago who performed at this year’s LIVID Festival, and Milwaukee indie-rapper Juiceboxx. According to the group it was recorded across five different studios around the world. No small feat.
All I Know (Triple Kit Extended Mix) feat. Hypnotic Brass Ensemble and Juiceboxxx by Eagle and the Worm
The remix adds a touch more fuzz and distortion on top of the original, and would find itself right at home with new efforts from The Black Keys. The addition of Juiceboxx’s rapping towards the end of the track makes this track a sure dance floor filler. It’s fun. It’s silly. But it also screams of the summer we’ve all been waiting patiently to enjoy.
Hypnotic Brass Ensemble’s additions also work perfectly with the instrumentals from Eagle & The Worm you’d swear they were the same band. If this song doesn’t give you a hankering for silly messy times around a pool we don’t know what will. This song is already on high rotation around the office, and something tells us it will be for a long time.
