With less than two months left until The Temper Trap unleash their self-titled sophomore album the Australian band have given us a little taste of lead single ‘Need Your Love’.

The teaser comes off the back of huge Temper Trap news over the last week including a tour of Australia which will take in Darwin, Melbourne, and Sydney where the group will perform two special performances at the Sydney Opera House for Vivid Live.

It’s been three long years since the Melbourne band exploded onto the international scene with their breakthrough LP Conditions which peaked at number nine on the ARIA Charts and 175 on the Billboard 200 in the US. The album spawned the international hit ‘Sweet Disposition’ which peaked at number 14 here in Australia and sixth on the UK singles chart.

A few weeks ago we caught wind that their new record was finally finished after spending the last few months in Los Angeles with producer Tony Hoffer who has previously worked with M83, Silversun Pickups, Beck, Phoenix and more.

This time around the group and their team are hoping to best Conditions, with manager Danny Rogers no doubt hoping some of the magic he’s worked with Gotye will also rub off onto The Temper Trap.

“I’m as confident as you can be on a second album,” Rogers said in an interview back in January. “They’ve got a really good attitude towards it and are really just good blokes.”

“There’s been moments where we’ve sat around questioning the direction, and with five members there’s always going to be five opinions. But I think them and Gotye are going to be flying the [Australian] flag around the world.”
