Last year guitar god Joe Satriani filed a law suit against Coldplay for plagiarism, claiming Coldplay’s monster hit ‘Viva La Vida’ borrowed significantly from his song ‘If I Could Fly’.  Coldplay countered the claim, releasing statements repeatedly insisting the song was theirs alone.

However, if you’ve been fantasising about seeing scenes in court of Satriani smashing his guitar over Chris Martin’s head in a blind rage then think again.  We’ll never get to hear a judges opinion as the two parties have reached an out of court settlement.

Billboard.com reports that according to “legal sources”, both parties have come to a “financial settlement” and that “Coldplay will not be required to admit any wrongdoing.”

So the Coldplay vs. Satriani saga has come to an end and Satriani can add a few more zeros to his bank account.
