Tropfest, Australia’s leading short film competition, has just announced the musical acts that are set to perform at the 2013 screening.
First up, punters will be able to catch Sydney indie rock outfit Round The Corner for a live performance. They’ll be followed by Meg Mac, who has been described as an ‘unexpected new soul sound’. Her classy vocals have caught the ears of Triple J Unearthed and her debut single ‘Known Better’ is currently getting radio play.
Clubfeet will round out the early musical entertainment, and with two albums under their belt they’re sure to put on quite the show. The band hail from Melbourne (via Cape Town) and have already gained international notoriety for their catchy tunes.
After the celebrities and judges hit the red carpet, operatic-pop chanteuse Kate Miller-Heidke will serenade crowds before the Tropfest Finalists will have their films screened.
Finally, celebrations will begin with a performance from RÜFÜS, one of Sydney’s most exciting musical acts. The indie dance trio have already sold out concerts both overseas and locally. Party people can keep the good vibes going at the Cake Wines Tropfest Pop Up Bar at The Rocks until late.
And remember: if you can’t get to The Domain on Sunday you can watch the main event unfold live on free to air TV on SBS One from 8:30pm. This year’s free to air broadcast (and festival screens) will be hosted by Adam Spencer and Yumi Stynes, who’ll make sure those at home don’t miss a thing.
