This is going to be the party or all parties this Labour Day eve when Queensland comes to Melbourne for one hell of a rock show at Ding Dong Lounge.

Violent Soho & Velociraptor will be joined by Brisbane ex-pats Udays Tiger who made the move to Melbourne a few years back.

Violent Soho formed high school, and started by rehearsing and recording demos in their parent’s garages and playing shows wherever they could. Over time the bands fan base grew too. Fast forward to 2013 the band have signed to local hipster label I Oh You and have played major festivals around the world as well has touring with the likes of Dinosaur Jr, Built To Spill, The Bronx, The Black Keys, Trail of Dead, The Dead Weather, Black Francis, Cloud Nothings, Magic Dirt, Grinspoon many others.

Joining the party are Brisbane’s Velocirapator, a trio formed by vocalist/primary songwriter Jeremy Neale and his bros Simon Ridley and Shane Parsons of DZ Deathrays, Velociraptor quickly grew (in number, if not reputation). The band now has a revolving cast of 12 Ultimate Party Dogs and embarked on a several national tours. The pre-destination of Velociraptor’s rise to fame as the world’s greatest stadium rock band was heralded by the oracles at Australia’s Triple J. Inexplicably receiving high rotation for single ‘In the Springtime’ and again for latest single ‘Cynthia’ has ensured that Velociraptor’s place in the hearts and minds of the Australian populace was cemented.

Opening the night are now Melbourne based punk and grunge 2 piece UDAYS TIGER, who play no-nonsense music. Live, there’s an energy and noise that far exceeds the straight up guitar and drums combo – now’s the time to get on the wagon!
