Are you addicted to Instagram? Do you think that photo of your cat sleeping with the Amaro filter needs to be shown to the world? Good news, because New Zealand-born two-piece Evermore wants to use all your vignetted Instagram snaps for their upcoming music video.
‘Hey My Love’ is the third single to come off the band’s fifth studio release, Follow The Sun, released in October last year. Our Tone Deaf reviewer described the record as a “return to the original Evermore elements” and “a change from their prior album that delivered dance pop numbers like ‘Hey Boys and Girls’.”
For the accompanying clip, Evermore is calling for fans to hashtag Instragram snaps of people and moments they love with ‘#HeyMyLove’, which they will then compile to create an evolving music video designed to ‘make love famous’. #cute
The band took to social media to make the announcement, releasing a ‘Hey My Love Instagram Teaser’ clip hinting at what the upcoming video will look like.
In a unique move, the band will be releasing a new version of the video every four weeks, which means there’s an even greater chance the #artsy photo of that sunset you took the other day will get chosen, and it also gives you more time to capture that perfect selfie. The first instalment of the quadrilogy is being released this upcoming Monday 18th March.
Do you need some Instagram inspiration? The release of the new single coincides with Evermore’s upcoming national Hero Tour, kicking off mid-April before they head overseas to the US. The massive 29-date tour sees the band hit major cities as well as regional areas up until the start of June.
