Brisbane based folk singer, songwriter TJ Quinton has been working hard on developing his wonderful live show over the past year since releasing his debut album “Sorry Business” and now he’s packing his guitar, some undies and a toothbrush into the back of a van and heading out along the great East Coast of Australia, to promote his latest single “What is Real” off the album.
Having had a pretty impressive 2012, TJ has not only played various venues and festivals around Australia, NZ and the UK but also performed at the Adelaide Guitar Festival and supported Ladyhawke during her album launch in NZ. His music has been heard on Triple J’s “Roots n All”, 4ZZZ Brisbane, 3RRR Melbourne, community radio around Australia including the feature album on ABC Brisbane.
His the latest single ‘What Is Real’ from TJ’s debut album “Sorry Business”, is about those memories we choose to forget. Whether they’re buried under layers of time or the ones we dug graves for ourselves, What is Real describes the experience of moving through the familiar places that play host to our past. Drawn from TJ’s journeys back to his own rural roots, it sharply plays off the beauty of one’s home town against the secrets hidden there.
