Multi ARIA Award winning singer songwriter, Josh Pyke will release his fourth studio album The Beginning And The End Of Everything on 5 July, 2013.

Josh is set to hit the ground running with a small run of intimate acoustic ‘Fans First’ shows in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne, playing some of his new songs live for the very first time.

Fans are able to pre-order their copy of The Beginning And The End Of Everything today to receive an advanced download of ‘Bug Eyed Beauty’ and for an extra $14.99, secure themselves a ticket to one of the ‘Fans First’ tour shows as well as receive a singed copy of the record. What a deal!

This rare chance to see Josh Pyke play in such intimate venues will sell out so we recommend heading over to www.joshpyke.com for full details and to have the best possible chance of securing tickets.

To celebrate this tremendous news, Josh has teamed up with Sydney art duo Greedy Hen, to create a video for the album’s opening track ‘Bug Eyed Beauty’.

An introduction to the record’s themes and pace, ‘Bug Eyed Beauty’ and the accompanying visuals wonderfully embody the essence of The Beginning And The End Of Everything – a collection of songs that intricately weave together ideas of freedom, desire and death.

Greedy Hen painstakingly printed and cut out by hand hundreds of frames of Josh performing ‘Bug Eyed Beauty’ bringing the stop frame animation to life by juggling multiple layers of glass stacked between piles of National Geographic magazines, a collection of lamps, a stills camera, paper, tweezers, glue and a whole lot of patience. Each layer of glass held varying cut outs, while each element was moved to create the eerie textural vibes and shadows of the video.

The Beginning And The End Of Everything was recorded and produced with John Castle (The Bamboos, Washington, The Drones) and follows on from his Gold selling ARIA award winning albums Memories & Dust (2007) and Chimney’s Afire (2008) and the critically acclaimed Only Sparrows (2011).
