The anual CherryRock Festival will take place on Sunday 5 May in Melbourne’s famous AC/DC lane and rock institution Cherry Bar in Melbourne.
Monoliths of modern Stoner Rock, Unida from the Californian desert and Truckfighters from Sweden, will be playing Australia for the first time as the co-headliners for the 2013 Festival.
Unida features Kyuss lead singer John Garcia. After the original demise of Kyuss, Unida were together from 1998 to 2003, which included the release of the seminal stoner classic album “Coping With The Urban Coyote.” Reforming in 2012 Unida have made fans extremely happy announcing their performance at CherryRock013.
Many agree that Truckfighters ‘Gravity X’ is the greatest stoner rock album of the past twenty years. And it comes from Orebro, Sweden! In the awesome 2011 Truckfighters Fuzzomentarydocumentary film, QOTSA’s Josh Homme reflected upon Truckfighters with these exact words, “The best band that ever existed.”
