Melbourne indie duo Private Life is centered around the winning twosome of Renee Anderson and Jamie Barlow. After gaining an enviable reputation for their slick songwriting, smooth production, and sassy live shows, Private Life are set to launch their debut EP, due in May, with a series of live shows in Melbourne, Wollongong, and Sydney in June.

The EP Launch follows the successful release of their lead single ‘Mine’, as heard on Triple J, and featured in our Mixtape, with our Tone Deaf scribesaying the “somewhat 80s track glides along, capturing its audience with a catchy chorus. ‘Mine’ looks set to fit nicely in your road trip playlist.”

‘Mine’ is taken from the band’s first EP,  which Renee Anderson says “each song varies from heartbreak to obsession, to fantasy. The sounds are like little invisible ties linking the tracks”

Private Life is an intimate affair of driven basslines and soaring, emotional vocals with kaleidoscopic synth melodies – drawing a line from your heart to your feet. Reminiscent of Devo, Little Dragon and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Private Life has rocked the stage with national and international acts including Garbage, The Griswolds, Alpine, Sticky Fingers, City Calm Down, Owl Eyes and other renowned artists

“Come to the show and be warmed by the analog synths, caressed by the vocals and shaken by the pounding rhythm section. It’s an amalgamation of what you hear on the record with even more energy and emotion,” says Jamie Barlow.
