The Snakadaktal Australian Tour 2013 is kicking off today as the band releases their debut album Sleep In The Water, while the band birth the album with a performance at Adelaide’s Spin Off Festival tonight.
It’s a momentous day for the five friends from Melbourne’s leafy northeast, better known as Snakadaktal, and their bold full-length release Sleep In The Water, which follows on from he band’s self-titled EP and last year’s ‘Dance Bear’.
First single ‘Hung On Tight’ has won the band the attention of fans both locally and abroad, with 75,000 Soundcloud plays. It’s been on high rotation at triple J and community radio, and praised by the online community, along with the poignant, surreal video for the single.
The band are currently taking their dreamy soundscapes to the nation. Last weekend, they played their set at Splendour In The Grass, whilst just this week they transfixed audiences at Alt-J’s Melbourne and Sydney shows before heading off for their own headline tour.
They will be supported on all headline shows by Fishing. Hailing from the Blue Mountains in NSW, Fishing’s ocean-scapes offer the perfect accompaniment to Snakadaktal’s dreamy music. Tickets for the tour are on sale now.
