‘Go Get A Job,’ is written about these events, as well as the conflicting feelings of freedom and frustration associated with being unemployed.

Lark’s solo career came to be after the devastating Christchurch earthquakes. As half the city closed and his regular band’s practice space became rubble, he started working with a temperamental laptop and broken-stringed guitar. Having little more than a sunlight-starved bedroom for inspiration he released the TOM LARK EP, which caught the ears of Australian producer Berkfinger (Art vs Science, Architecture in Helsinki), who is now working with him on 2014 album debut.
