Showing that they’re down with the kids (or looking at the list – more like middle aged baby boomers and people with unadventurous music taste), Britain’s Royal Mail has issued a set of 10 stamps featuring what it deems to be some of the most iconic album covers of the last 40 years.

The albums include the Rolling Stones’ Let It Bleed, Coldplay’s A Rush of Blood to The Head, Led Zeppelin’s IV, David Bowie’s The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells, The Clash’s London Calling, Primal Scream’s Screamadelica, New Order’s Power, Corruption and Lies, Pink Floyd’s The Division Bell and Blur’s Parklife.

At Tone Deaf we’re sincerely hoping that the Screamadelica one came with the licking side dipped in acid, and wondering whether Australia Post will extend the Australian classic rock posters stamp series they did a few years ago to take in classic Aussie album covers. What album covers should be included? Somehow we reckon Guy Sebastian won’t make the cut…
