Hobo Rocket is Pond’s fifth offering in as many years. The album was released around the world in August and this month you’ll get to see it first hand. Kicking off in Freo, then to Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, this will be the first time Pond have toured Australia since February.
Created by Nick Allbrook, Jay Watson, Joseph Ryan, Jamie Terry and Cam Avery, the band’s MO with Hobo Rocket was to capture the intensity and rawness of a Pond live show. As we’ve said before (ask anyone who has experienced this to back us up), it’s pretty much like a punch in the face. That you enjoy.
Nick describes the release as “…kind of mindset of finding our own little place in music, and being more of a functioning band, which is what makes it noisier and denser. This one we went as brutally hard as we would at a show. We wanted the songs to sound loose and live.”
This will be the only headline tour of Hobo Rocket. Next time the band head around the country, it will be with new material, which they’re in the midst of recording.
