Sydney electro-pop duo Tales in Space enjoyed a massive 2013, but now, unveiling a blistering brand new track, it’s pretty clear the twosome aren’t content with sitting still.
Last year the duo saw their sharp blend of electro-infused disco rock spreading across the blogosphere and national airwaves in the form of the two infectious tracks, ‘Shades’ and ‘In A Million Places At Once’. To illustrate via statistics, ‘Shades’ was the 16th most played Australian track on Triple J for 2014, and the 34th most played song overall.
Starting with humble beginnings in 2009, the pair quickly scored their first US tour only months later, showcasing their explosive sound in venues all over LA and New York. In 2010, the sophomore EP Ghost In The Room saw Tales In Space garnering more attention on home soil, with the likes of Triple J, FBI and Channel [V] all jumping in support of the indie lads.
Consolidating the buzz of hype surrounding them, Tales In Space have quickly become known for their energetic live shows that have seen them touring with the likes of Stonefield and The Cairos. Their sound is created with an unorthodox mix of traditional guitars and percussion with intricate electronic samples and loops, a combination that truly comes alive in the flesh.
After more tours and smashing their Bigsound 2013 showcase on the Triple J Unearthed stage, Tales In Space are back with the new single ‘All Messed Up’, a track that fuses their catchy pop sensibilities with thumping, dancefloor-ready beats. It’s the first glimpse of the band’s debut album, expected to drop in the first quarter of 2014. Listen below.
