Florence and the Machine will be giving all the royalties from hit Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up) to the New York band Gang Gang Dance, who’s House Jam bears a remarkable similarity to it.
After Gang Gang Dance heard the single they approached Florence’s record label Island seeking a share of the royalties and after admitting that the band should have been given a co-writing credit, Florence and her producer co-writer have said that the band should have been credited on the record.
No doubt with her busy tour schedule Florence forgot to go and tell them they would be getting the money for it – and judging by the massive hit the song was, Gang Gang Dance will probably have more than enough to record a new album which she could then ‘borrow’ off again. Works for everyone
