There’s an old rock n’ roll maxim – what happens on tour, stays on tour. Also known as the Code of the Road, this means that anyone involved in the tour doesn’t tell anyone about the drugs, booze and rampant groupie shagging that happened when they get back home. Particularly the band and crew’s wives and girlfriends.

There’s also a general rule that you don’t bring your wife or girlfriend on tour. So it seems that Velvet Revolver got these rules mixed up and not only had their wives on tour but got them involved in managing their career.

Scott Weiland, who quit the band in 2008 precipitating their break-up, has lashed out at his band mates’ wives in an interview with Details magazine. He said: “We had all been through the same experiences, and it felt like a gang … But everyone was a rock star. There were petty jealousies. Then the wives got involved with the business of the band, and that was the beginning of the downfall.”
