Courtney Love, currently pouring her heart out to any organisation that will let her promote her new solo … err, the new Hole album, has been dredging up her dead husband, possibly in a bid to drum up sales and interest in the new long player. She’s revealed that the last conversation the couple had was about dirty old cash. Nirvana were considering headlining 1994’s touring Lollapalooza Festival, fearing they were on the verge of going broke and knowing that Courtney’s ex, Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan, was set to earn $11.5 million from the jaunt.

When questioned about her final conversation with Kurt Cobain, Courtney stated:

“It was about getting him into rehab. Oh no, it’s worse than that, my last conversation was if he didn’t do Lollapoalooza… it was gross, it was gross… like Billy [Corgan] would make 11.5 million from it. It was the last thing he wanted to hear. He didn’t care.”

“I got totally put up to it. The people around us were fucking evil, like, “You guys are going to go broke”. When he died he had 38 million dollars and no one knows where that went”.
