Australian born, now France based experimental pop artist Lia Mice is about to release her stunning new LP titled I Love You.
Set for release via Rice Is Nice Records on November the 7th, I Love You is Mice’s second album, and her first experiment in danceable tempos was inspired by new music uncovered during in her first year living in Europe: in the grooves of yé-yé singles; on the dance floors of converted boat-venues; in the theme songs of classic French cinema and on the iPods of neighbourhood house parties.
After spending 2011 and 2012 touring Australia, USA, Japan and Europe in support of her debut self-produced solo LP, Lia Mice relocated to Lyon France to write her new album with the purpose of recording the songs with a live band in a real studio. One year later she returned to Brooklyn to record 10 songs at Strange Weather Studios with producer Daniel James Schlett (Amen Dunes, Ghostface Killah, Oberhofer).
The songs from her Brooklyn sessions became this, the I Love You LP, Lia Mice’s post-modern take on pop music, ahead of its release you can hear this impressive LP below.
