Just a month after headliners Röyksopp & Robyn announced the cancellation of their appearance on the upcoming Falls Festival 2014 tour, fellow big-names Julian Casablancas + The Voidz have announced that they have pulled out of all of their upcoming Australian and Asian tour dates.

The band, fronted by Strokes singer Julian Casablancas, were set to make appearances at the upcoming instalment of Falls Festival, as well as sister festival Southbound and several headline appearances in Sydney and Melbourne.

“Unfortunately, due to unforeseen logistical circumstances, we must cancel our planned trip to Australia and Asia,” reads a statement from the band. “The band is hoping to announce new dates sometime in the New Year and are disappointed that it can’t be right now and are very sorry for all and any inconvenience.”

Festival organisers, who shared the band statement “with heavy hearts”, have already announced replacements, confirming the addition of local favourites Cloud Control, who were originally announced as a Byron Bay-exclusive, and DZ Deathrays, who will play Lorne and Byron.

Casablancas + The Voidz were part of a raft of late additions to the Falls lineup announced in September and were set to tour on the back of their critically acclaimed first album Tyranny, which has so far yielded the singles ‘Human Sadness’ and ‘Where No Eagles Fly’.

Singer Robyn announced her cancellation last month citing “a personal family matter”, with collaborators Röyksopp quickly following suit. Organisers soon confirmed that they had replaced the Scandinavian trio with La Roux and homegrown heroes Empire of the Sun.
