Cloud Control bass player and founding member Jeremy Kelshaw has taken to social media to announce he is leaving the Blue Mountains alternative rockers to return to “civilian life”, following a decade with the group that yielded two full-length albums and numerous acclaimed tours.
“Dear music lovers. After 10 years of blissfully rocking out & playing bass all over the world, I’ve decided to step out of cloud control and return to civilian life,” writes Kelshaw in his missive. “I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished & it’s not been easy arriving at this point, but that’s ok.”
“I love my band and I love our fans. To Heidi [Lenffer, vocals & keyboards], Al [Wright, vocals & rhythm guitar], and Ulrich [Lenffer, drums]: thanks for creating this dream with me, you guys are the best. To everyone who has worked with us, played with us, come to a show or listened to our music: you guys are second best & I love you all.”
Before signing off, Kelshaw insists that the band’s third album is “being worked on, never fear”, but concludes, “these Falls & Southbound shows are my last. Life is extreme, so’s my new hair cut. Music is the best thing ever, but you knew this already. Much love. Jeremy.”
