Australia’s favourite folk rocksters and Triple J Hottest 100 winners Mumford & Sons have teamed up with fellow London folk songstress Laura Marling to release a new EP today (5th July) which they recorded on tour in India in December of last year.
During the tour, the band infamously copped a bad dose of Bangalore Belly which gave them a severe case of the runs and led to the infamous quote on the cover of Q Magazine in which they summed up their experiences of touring India with the pearler ‘Never trust a fart’.
While they were there they managed to get of the toilet long enough to spend a number of days recording with the Dharohar Project, a Rajasthani folk collective, in a hastily put together studio at an arts and culture school in Delhi. Available exclusively on iTunes, the extendced player includes collaborative re-workings of Mumford & Sons’ ‘To Darkness’ and Laura Marling’s ‘Devil’s Spoke’.
The full tracklisting is:
‘Devil’s Spoke/Sneh Ko Marg’
‘To Darkness/Kripa’
‘Anmol Rishtey’
‘Mehendi Rachi’
