Web developer-come-singer/songwriter, Mike Waters – his debut EP LIFE is officially released, his EP launch shows in Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne have been announced, his first video clip for ‘Gambling Man’ has been released… and he announces signings for both management and bookings.
Having spent the past 10 years working in the corporate world it came as a complete shock to colleagues, friends and family when Mike Waters casually revealed he had secretly been writing songs in his bedroom…. Incredible songs. He has now released the first collection of these songs, an EP entitled LIFE.
“It took many rehearsals and run-throughs. I regularly sat in that chair in the freezing cold, shirtless and with my head covered in a mixture of sorbolene, cornflour and food colouring. Oli’s studio doesn’t have hot water, so cleaning up afterwards was testing. But it was definitely worth it. When we felt we were happy with the test takes, we turned our pockets out, hired a camera, set up some lights, and spent the day doing take after take. It was a hell of a lot of fun.”
LIFE has seen Mike working with the likes of John Castle, Craig Harnath (Jet, Motor Ace) and Jack Arentz (I Know Leopard, New Navy, Deja). Be prepared to hear a lot more about the incredibly talented and very humble Mike Waters in the coming months. Believe us.
