Foo Fighters fans will have heard of the hallowed Million-Dollar Demos. The tapes once thought long lost were the result of unsuccessful recording sessions for what eventually became the band’s 2002 album, One By One.

Several of the demos eventually leaked and made their way onto the internet or were otherwise released by the band, but now the seven tracks that had previously remained unheard have finally surfaced in full and are available for fans to download.

As Music Feeds reports, a Reddit user, who goes by the name of Dale_Nixon, recently shared a URL in the Foo Fighters subreddit, which links to what’s believed to be the seven unheard Million-Dollar Demos. Foos fans on Reddit believe the recordings to be legitimate.

The zip file, which readers can download here, contains seven tracks, including early versions of the songs ‘All My Life’, ‘Halo’, and ‘Overdrive’. Most are similar to the versions that eventually appeared on One By One, while others differ greatly.

“11 songs were recorded. Of those, 10 were considered for the album. Of THOSE, 3 were officially released by the band (Tired of You, Walking A Line, and Normal). The remaining 7 were never officially released in full,” Reddit user fftamahawk009 explains.

If these are indeed the genuine Million-Dollar Demos, it concludes a 13-year search for hardcore Foo Fighters fans, who’ve been desperate looking for the demos in their entirety for over a decade.

The recording sessions that yielded the demos in question were scrapped and the tracks later re-recorded as the band regrouped after a lengthy tour.

At the time, drummer Taylor Hawkins was recovering from a near-fatal drug overdose and frontman Dave Grohl put sessions on hold after he was dissatisfied with the results.

Foo Fighters were recently thrust into the headlines after one thousand die-hard Foos fans recently united to play the band’s classic tune ‘Learn To Fly’ as part of an attempt to convince the band to come and play in the Italian town of Cesena.

The Rockin’ 1000 project was conceived by Fabio Zaffagnini back in 2014 and came to fruition last week, with Grohl later posting a video message delivered in Italian, agreeing to come to the town and play a concert.
