One of our favourite regular columns is what we like to call the Gear Guide. Every fortnight, we chat to an awesome local or international band or artist and nerd out on all the specifics of the gear they love and why they love it.

But our pals King Of The North aren’t content to just use other people’s gear, they’ve gone ahead and invented their own. Created by guitarist and vocalist Andrew Higgs, the ‘3 From 1’ guitar pedal enables one guitar to produce the sound of two guitars and a bass.

“With a variety of uses and an ability to incorporate multiple amplifiers, you can make 1 guitar sound like 3 separate players! To put it in a nutshell, The 3 From 1 Technique Higgsy has been utilizing – the sound KOTN has become known for has now been condensed into a world first pedal!” the band writes.

“The 3 From 1 Pedal will be launched in the only way it can be, with a live KOTN performance/ workshop at THE MELBOURNE GUITAR SHOW 2015, this Saturday at Caulfield Racecourse 3pm.” If you’re a fellow guitar gear-head, we highly recommend you pop ’round.

“Creating the 3 From 1 pedal has enabled me to add a couple of features the existing set up didn’t have,” Higgs notes. “It will give me freedom to create even more things with it.”

“Having it all in one box will also enable much easier transitions in switching and overall usability. It has come up great and I’m really excited about sharing it with the guitar/ music community at the Melbourne Guitar Show!”
