Byron Bay indie rock band Vernas Keep have had a busy year so far and listening to their brand new debut EP Bones and Arrows it’s clear why. The band’s ability to create delicate ethereal songs and enveloping sonic soundscapes are captivated audiences when they opened Falls Festival in Byron Bay on New Year’s Day and they’re been kicking goals ever since.

Describing the meaning behind the new EP title, the band explains “when you pair up words such as ‘Bones and Arrows’ you think of a battle ground, fought out of, and for love, to nurture a long burning and possibly fading light. Lost on a road travelling further from home, struggling with a realisation of change, not entirely wanted but gaining ground and chasing you down nonetheless.” Somewhat ironic considering that this four piece sound anything but lost or unsure of their sound.

Having cut their teeth playing live, Vernas Keep have managed to capture their live sound and translate it in the studio. To celebrate the release of their new EP (out tomorrow) they’ll be touring the east coast throughout August and September, be sure to catch them when they roll into your town, tour dates below and more info at the band’s Facebook page.
