Having scoured the country and listened to some 1,280 uploaded songs form 850 talented teens this year, Triple J Unearthed have finally revealed what they reckon are five of the best high school acts in Australia.

“If you’ve been following the Unearthed HIGHlights to this point, you’ll know that there’s been a wealth of standout tracks that totally schooled us with their maturity, vision, and sheer songwriting craft,” Triple J write.

These five finalists are now in the running to be crowned the 2015 Unearthed High champ, joining an illustrious roster of previous winners, which includes the likes of Japanese Wallpaper, Asta, Lunatics on Pogosticks, and Stonefield.

As always, the winning act will also be flown to Triple J’s studio to have their song professionally recorded, remixed, or mastered by the J’s Music Producers, the track will be played on Triple J and Triple J Unearthed, and Triple J will be dropping by their school.

However, as Tone Deaf reported previously, this year’s prize is particularly huge. The 2015 winner will also receive professional music advice from the likes of Alison Wonderland, Northlane, Art vs Science, The Jezabels, and Illy.

Don’t forget to tune into Breakfast with Matt & Alex on Thursday, 20th August when they reveal the 2015 winner of Triple J Unearthed High.

So, without further ado, let’s take a look at the teen acts that we can expect to go on to bigger and better things in the near future.
