You most likely know Chet Faker as the Triple J Hottest 100-topping producer and songwriter behind hits like ‘Talk Is Cheap’, ‘Gold’, and ‘1998’. But there’s another accolade we reckon he can add to his resume – Vine savant.
We don’t know if you’ve ever had a browse around Chet Faker’s Vine account, but we can only liken it to some sort of bizarre hallucinatory experience induced by drugs you’ve never heard off from a country you can’t find on a map.
Many of the Vines are simply Faker in a select location improvising a falsetto melody, with lyrics describing precisely what he is doing and/or experiencing in that exact moment. Other times… well, you should just see for yourself.
Faker’s Vine feed also has numerous reposts from some of his favourite accounts, most notably “Visionary, Healer & Teacher” Heather Hans, whose soothing voice, positive reaffirmations, and ridiculous green screen backgrounds Faker apparently finds entrancing.
