Time to die by sexy, people. Josh Homme and Jesse Hughes, the two love machines behind Eagles of Death Metal, have returned with a new single, ‘Silverlake’, from their brand new album, Zipper Down, which is slated to drop next month.
As Consequence of Sound reports, ‘Silverlake’ is an ode to the Los Angeles neighbourhood of the same name, which has a reputation as a hipster enclave. “I am from Silverlake and therefore I don’t give a damn!” sings Hughes on the track.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, Homme said the new record was released as a response to terrorism. “We put out a record and human rights are better, the world feels better, people make more money, there’s less anger, people are more respectful to women and to homosexuals…” he said.
“I just think at the end of the day we don’t really take ourselves that serious, you know?” he later added. “That just means that tons of desire and passion for music goes into making it, but we also realize that the best possible scenario for fans of music is when you’re kind of like, ‘Don’t worry about it. It’s cool, man.'”
