Returning to Australia in January 2016 for Falls Festival and Southbound appearances, acclaimed UK indie- rockers The Maccabees are thrilled to announce headline Sydney and Melbourne dates; The five-piece will take the stage at Sydney’s Metro Theatre on Monday 4th January, followed by 170 Russell in Melbourne on Wednesday 6th January.

The Maccabees embark on their second Australian visit off the back of the release of their remarkable fourth studio album ‘Marks To Prove It’, which debuted at No.1 on the UK album chart and is the follow up to 2012’s Mercury Prize-nominated ‘Given To The Wild’. The new songs are not just fuelled by a newfound confidence, directness and power but also infused with emotion; the addition of female vocals adding another layer of depth to The Maccabees’ already elaborate sound.

Most recently in the country for 2012’s Groovin The Moo, The Maccabees have hit a new high on their latest record and subsequent tour dates, promising an exultant return to Australia in January next year. With NME describing the new album and live show “as formidable on record as it is onstage… The Maccabees are back at their brilliant, excitable peak” (#1 On Repeat), local audiences will need to prepare to be enraptured by the UK’s hottest export.
