Berwick based punk rockers The Controllers are today unleashing their charged up news single ‘Please Explain, Poor Lean Hand Sun’ ahead of some pretty huge upcoming shows.

The band explain the message behind the song by asking “Is anybody else sick of the stereotypical, toothless Aussie bogans on TV and social networks protesting to get their rights back? Rights, I might add, that have in fact not been touched or affected in any way. Australia is far from ‘full’. If it was ‘full’, I would campaign day and night to kick out people like Pauline Hanson and the rest of the racist idiots who clearly don’t appreciate or understand how well off we are, and I’d let in struggling asylum seekers who are running for their lives.”

The just over one minute long track sees the band stray from their alternative rock sound to embrace their punk energy and present a big “fuck off to Islamophobic and bigoted people.”

Before the year is out the guys will be performing on the Central Park Stage at Beyond the Valley New Years Eve festival at 7:30pm on December 30th, and promise a bunch of new songs for their set. They’ll also be taking the stage for Rock N Load at The Corner Hotel, Richmond – Saturday January 23rd. For more info on upcoming shows and releases visit the band’s Facebook page.
