For those who some how have managed to miss local psych-rockers The Dead Heir, firstly where have you been? And secondly that’s ok –  let us give you a quick run down: In 2014 they captured our attention with the release of their hook laden single and videoCooked‘ they then last year created this killer video based on Melbourne’s music scene and dropped one of our favourite EPs to come out at the end of the year.

Now only 22 days into the new year – they’ve got something new for us, it’s the video for ‘Hand’ a track taken from their 2015 EP. For this single the band have taken inspiration from early 60s love songs and dropped a slow/melodic tune with some dreamy synth lines thrown in.

The idea for this video was to organise a local gig and charge $1 to slap one member from the band. Needless to say there was quite the line for some cheap slaps. The hilarious video contrasts a slow romantic song with every slap endured by the band throughout the night.

Check it out below and don’t miss they guys when they launch the clip at The Gasometer 28th January with The Shabbab, Masco Sound System and Gabriella Cohen. Info on the band’s Facebook page.
