Brisbane-based trio PYNES are today releasing their brand new single ‘Lighting Fires’. Drawing inspiration from acts like Savages, The Drones and Patti Smith the crew have managed to craft their own sophisticated brand of indie rock.

Recorded at The Plutonium Studios in Brisbane in late 2015, and produced by Australian artist Jonathan Boulet ‘Lighting Fires’ is the first taste of the the band’s upcoming yet to be named debut EP (set for release int he coming months).

Fronted by vocalist / guitarist Mel Tickle (previously of Brisbane indie outfit Little Scout and current touring member of The John Steel Singers) and joined by Jacob Hicks (drummer for Jonathan Boulet and previously Re:Enactment) and guitarist Pat Elliott (Big Strong Brute, previously Little Scout), PYNES are definitely a trio we’ll be keeping a close eye on this coming months.
