Today we have the pleasure of premiering the video for ‘Good Word’ the latest single from the Tim Richmond Group (fronted by local songwriters Tim Richmond).

A fresh cut from his upcoming sophomore album What’s in the Middle (out through Lost And Lonesome on July 1) Tim’s latest effort is an unclassifiable, hard-edged powerhouse of a track. Driven by Pete Luscombe’s (The Black Sorrows, Paul Kelly) industrial percussion, the track’s moody guitar lines and brooding synth beds are both unnerving yet completely enthralling.

The stunning clip was shot in The Old Bradmill situated in Yarraville on the outskirts of Melbourne’s western suburbs, and directed by David Meagher.

David Meagher explained how the film came to be “The building was abandoned in 2007 and since then has become home to graph artists, teenage boys setting fire to things, creepy young men with big hair and walking sticks, dog walkers, hot rod enthusiasts, model photographers, wedding photographers, toddler photographers and photographers of anything requiring a little colour in the background really. Oh and filmmakers (naturally).

“Tim and I visited the location half a dozen times and although mostly on our own, we were more than once taken aback by the surrealist landscape of colour, characters and filth we found ourselves in.

“On our very last visit to complete shooting with Mikey (our sleazy businessman guy – you know the type…), bricklayers were bricking up all the entrance ways into the building. Turns out a local developer has purchased the 24-hectare site for $160 million and plans to build a $2 billion mini-city there.

Pffft… 2 billion whatever. In my eyes The Old Bradmill will always be a filthy old house of bricks, burnt-out cars and unrestricted artistic freedom.”
