‘Two By One’ Melbourne singer/songwriter Ali E’s reemergence after a long recording period, following the 2015 release of her EP Creatures.
It’s a song about relationships; how selfishness and miscommunication can result in a complete severing of a connection. There’s a lovely build as guitars and violins intermingle beneath Ali’s vocals, which eventually give way to a heavy barrage of drums and droning strings.
Ali E has just headed off on the frankly awesome Up The Guts tour of Australia, which began in Tasmania and will be tearing through the red centre en route to Darwin. Joining her on the trip are Scotdrakula, Scott and Charlene’s Wedding and Ben Wright Smith, as well as Jack & Jo’s Jukebox Explosion, a DJ set featuring members of Big Scary and The Pretty Littles.
